Go Green's Notes from Post
Army West Point Nation,
It was a nice weekend to take a break from the NCAA season for me as I had the opportunity to travel with the West Point Wrestling Club and coach some of our athletes at the Senior Nationals in Ft Worth. This event served as a qualifier for the Olympic Trials- which will be held in State College in April.
It was great to be in the corner for Greco athletes and former Black Knights PJ Ogunsanya and Jack Lucie. Both competed at a high level, but were unable to place.
The story of the wrestling world, however, was our very own resident athlete Vayle-rae Baker. VRB won the title at 53k, defeating the 1,2 and 3 seeds along the way. Her final bout was a convincing victory over last year's Final X runner-up. Vayle was recognized as the outstanding wrestler of the event for her efforts. VRB's performance sets her up for an Olympic run and we are proud to train and support her. We hope you are able to make it to the Olympic Trials to cheer her on.
If you didn't read it- you can check out this incredible piece about Vayle's prep for this past weekend on Army Insiders.

What's Next
America's Team is wrapping up TEES and will be back in action on Friday at two separate events. A group will head to Stabler Arena at Lehigh to compete in the Sheridan Invite and several others will make the journey to Wilkes Barre to compete into the Rose Bowl of wrestling. We will also be sending a contingent to the Southern Scuffle in Chattanooga over Winter Break.
