Branch Night
Let's start with the important stuff and then get to the wrestling. Our Firsties all got their branch assignments this week and we could not be prouder of them. These guys are going to make great officers. Trust me when I tell you I am proud to work at a school that emphasizes leadership, loyalty and service, and grateful for the regular reminders of how wrestling fits into this.
Iowa Dual
Wrestling Drops Competitive Dual vs. No. 2 Iowa - Army West Point
 | ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Army West Point Wrestling held a team score lead halfway through Friday night's dual match vs. the No. 2 Iowa Hawkeyes but would fall 23-16 at CFFC Match Day: Uncivil War at Francis Howell High School. The event—which saw Iowa wrestle Princeton earlier in the evening—saw Army race out to dual leads of 7-3 and 13-7 after three and five bouts, respectively. goarmywestpoint.com |
We fought hard and picked up some wins. The ultimate result is a loss to the #2 team in the nation. But the trip was worth what we can take away from it. Even in matches where we were overmatched, we saw very little drop off in effort. And we got our hands raised 4 times. I told the guys after the match that it is 12/7 and we have already seen Penn State and Iowa and we are still standing tall. Now we will take the lessons we learned and run to the next fight. ICYMI.

Old Friends in New Places
