Go Green's Notes from Post- Sing Second Edition

22-10

That’s a good score.  And we were on the 22 side of it.

Beating navy feels good.  That’s two in a row, and seven out of the last eleven.  We are doing well in this rivalry, but will need to keep our foot on the gas!

Last night’s dual set the single match attendance record for Christl, and the atmosphere was incredible.

A total team effort to be sure, but special mention of our match clinchers- plebe Jake Gilfoil at 184 and Wolfgang Frable at 197.  Both those matches may have been considered toss ups to everyone else, but we felt confident in these two beasts.  Both used signature tough Army brand wrestling to secure the win- Jake with a brutal tough ride in the 3rd period and Wolfgang just spamming underhooks and wrestling hard till the final whistle. I have had the good fortunate of recruiting these two guys twice, once at Wyoming Seminary, and then to West Point.

A great night for the team, and for the program. You also probably read that at intermission a check was presented by several members of the Class of ’72.  Their $1million dollar gift has endowed the Head Coach position.  What an incredible effort from all of them.  We look forward to several other classes organizing and making a similar impact as we take this team to the next level.

Final dual of the year is Sunday at Christl against the Bearcats from Binghamton.  We will honor our Seniors and take on a strong challenge from an EIWA foe. Hope to see you there!
