WTT Recap
It is always a great day when you have on the mat results to report. A trio of WPWC athletes traveled to Nebraska this weekend in an effort to make the Senior World team. Here are the recaps.
Vayle-rae Baker A veteran of senior level competition, VRB reached the semis at 55k with two solid wins to open the event. She fell in the semis to the #1 seed. Vayle will next compete at the Bill Farrell at the NYAC in November. She recently enlisted in the Army and will head to WCAP in February.
Fabian GutierrezFabian made his Greco Roman debut at 55k and posted two wins. If you are on social media you have undoubtable seen his highlight reel duck under. Fabian will go to the Farrell as well and continue to work his way up the senior ladder. Fabian is a great resource for all of our lightweights.
Arvin Khosravy Arvin was the talk of the Greco event. He won three bouts at 82k, but the bigger story was his controversial loss to the #1 seed and eventual champ (and World Bronze medalist) Arvin executed the go ahead 4 point body lock, but the move was nullified by a borderline offensive leg call. Arvin has a big future ahead of him and we are thrilled he has chosen to train with us and become an Army officer. Thanks for all your support.
